Hon. Njingum Musa’s Trophy Leaves Ngoketunjia 13 Villages with the Unexpected
From the very day of the Launches of the Peace, Unity
restoration and recomciliation Trophy in Ngoketunjia’s 3 Sub-Division to the
day of the grand finals, subjects of this great illustrious Division are still
marveled and yet to believe in what magic Honourable Njimgum Musa has been able
to use, to successfully organize a hitch free trophy or competetion in all three
Sub-Division made up of 13 villages harboring very controversial figures, not
forgetting political manipulations and cultural divergence why not difference.
According to the Honourable MP, “the motivation and the
mission of the Trophy which is to reconcile elite, rehabilitate peace, unity,
love, dialogue and solidarity without any political influence or tribal
imposition without any hidden agenda is responsible for the success story of
what is now termed by the people magic hitch free trophy”. Hear him, “Only
clean and pure love reciprocates genuine love, which is what I am carrying to
my people, when you give with all your heart, love and strength miracles come
your way. We should be thankful to allah, be honest to your people and they
will be sincere to you”.
This prestigious trophy which is rounding up to its finals
was launched in the Ndop Council
Conference centre two weeks ago on the 15th day of August 2015 in a
joined assembly of sport officials and representatives of the various clubs
from the (13) thirteen villages to participate in the competition from Ndop,
Babessi and Balikumbat Sub-Divisions.
The trophy already in its third week of play on a cash prize
of 200,000 frs for each of the three Sub-Divisions leaving out the running cost
of the sporting competition for the youths will end with a grand inter-club
trophy for the Division jointly financed by renown elite of Ngoketunjia.
The trophy dubbed Peace, Unity and reconciliation trophy
according to the honourable Questor, MP for Ngoketunjia Nord constituency
Njingum Musa, is meant to boast first youth and animation programs in the
Division during this 2015 holidays.
Since sports is a uniting forum and platform the honourable
MP out of tribal limit and away from tribal difference and misunderstanding
made known to officials present that “our roles as elected officials is first
not only to ensure or speed up development actions or activities in our
respective constituencies but, also to sow the seed of love and understanding
barring the road for hate, war, anarchy, manipulation and blackmail. We are
subjected to preach, practice, promote and enhance love and unity amongst our
people. Gone are the days when hatred use to take central stage and properties
were destroyed, lives snatched and people’s belongings looted, today we are living an era where
peace and social security is most solicited and it is the civic responsibility
of each and everyone to contribute his or her own quota for the social welfare
of mankind”.
The trophy according to Honourable Njingum is a symbolic way
to say to the people of his constituency and by extension his Division “thank
you, that they should be more united to form a common front to bar the road
from Boko Haram to filter in their suicide bombers in Ngoketujia”.
Speaking to sports officials at the meeting, the Hon. MP
warned strongly against corruption and cheating given the intension of the
trophy, cautioning also that the intension of the donation should not be
misinterpreted or misconstrued and that it has no political coloration or that
it is meant for any other purpose than animating youths during holidays and
Shawn them from all evils at the same time keeping them united.
If there is one point he hammered and reiterated more on, it
was the fact that he charged sport officials to also guide youths during this
period to be ware of witches and cult officials who go around initiating
people’s children in the name of inviting them to take oath to stand by the
course of a particular party. “Politics should not go to the level of
initiation or oath taking, that to me is witchcraft and cultic”.
Opinion!!! Full Functioning of UBa to Cause the Closure of most Professional Higher Institutes in the North West?
It is now very clear, certain and obvious that many business,
money for making higher professional Institutes of learning with their cut
throat fees will now run out of business given that with just 50,000 frs cfa,
an average or a normal Cameroonian, to be more precise a North West parent will
gainfully send the child or daughter to a state run University where all the
faculties and professional institutions are fully operational with a staff
strength that has no march in the country.
It must be recall that parents from this part of the country
had suffered for years in the hands of these dubious business men who stood at
nothing to extort from desperate parents who with no hope and lack of adequate
means to send their children to school in other cheap state owned and run universities
in other Regions were subjected to send their daughters or sons to go in for
funny HND courses in obscured higher professional training institution charging
high fees without mercy.
With the coming and the announcement of the full operation of
the University by the Minister of Higher Education Prof Fame Ndongo through her
Vice-Chancellor Prof Tafah Edokat parents heaved a sigh of relief saying “at
last we have been rescued”. The time for revenge has come whether they like it
or not!
Worth noting and by facts, the coming of the Faculties of
Arts, Law and Political Science, Economics and marketing science, to meet the
faculty of science fully there, the teacher’s training institutions, the school
of medicine and nursing, Coltech, HICM, School of transport and Logistics
etc….. Leaves most of the North West based higher professional institutes
adventuring into sphere of business weeping. One even thinking aloud cried
“with all the loans and all these infrastructures where do I go to, for it is
certainly clear that every parent will want to send the child but to where he
will pay 50,000 FRS.
“Guess what? Fees are certainly going to drop, that is why
there is wild publicity and campaign outside! Even those Universities which
claim to be of high standards, one parent cried out, times are hard.
It should not also bit escape your imagination why most of
these institutions are running after UBa for MoUs and why most of them are
proposing to lease their structures to the University of Bamenda to be able to
accommodate her fast growing population certainly for royalties at the end, you
should not doubt!
It is now also very apparently clear that owners of these
money for making professional institutes were the ones blocking the creation of
the University of Bamenda and for it to operate in full capacity.
Another right thinking Cameroonian opined that it is time for
the Bamenda Business man to start thinking of opening factories or transform
their structures into companies than jump into school business because they are
trying to rival or emulate another great educationist.
Mayor Tubah to Go the Ntsimi Avouna Style; To Embark on Mass Broking of Houses Not Complying to Building Laws
*Not complying to Building Laws
*Following Instructions from Minister of Housing & Urban
Development Jean Claude Mbwentue
*To
Secure the Lives of Million Cameroonians
Such a ruthless action for the welfare of Cameroonians in and
around the University of Bamenda Municipality the council area in command of
Mayor Tanjong Martin, is absolutely and abundantly backed by the Minister of
housing and urban development’s letter which read does;
“With reference to the Regional Delegate’s report no
0110\e\54\L\HDU\RDNW dated 22nd of July 2015, on the subject
collapsed storey building at Atunibah Quarter in Bambui village, mindful of all
the circumstances, I call your attention and service to the fact that
government undertook to implement a development strategy for the National
territory by enacting the decentralization reform as well as law No 2004\003 of
21\04\2004 governing town planning in Cameroon. This is to give supervisory
powers to government Delegates, Mayors in respect of the execution of
construction works and their completion, as well as penalties against
professionals. In this light, I will like to insist that you operate as
follows:
-issue building permits exclusively for projects certified by
your technical team, before commencement of construction works,- issue building
permits to recently built structures, which after verification, proof of
haven’t been executed in conformity with building and construction norms,
-consistently demolish all recent structures which falls short of obeying these
standards. Its is my humble wish that for the interest of the Nation and yours
in particular, you comply.” A Letter written to the Mayor of Tubah, the
governor, SDO and the Regional Delegate served copies.
It should be noted that this letter comes in to strengthen
and corroborate actions or decisions of the councilors who had earlier in a
council session resolved to hire the services of a competent engineering firm
to come and reassess, evaluate and monitor buildings clandestinely belt this
short while around the municipality not following the law at the owner’s
expense.
Failing to do so, the Council will now step in with official
powers conferred to them to call for demolition and subsequently break down
those houses if owners hesitate to do so within the prescribed limits.
With the student population to rise now that all the
Faculties are fully operational, the Mayor observed we shall spare no chance to
secure the lives of young Cameroonians from the hands of young business men who
adventure with buildings for money making in the name of building hostels at
the speed of light. Prevention is better than cure, it is either they conform
to the law or we do the other wise and gain a bad name from some of these
adventurer than allow them come and get rid of the lives of innocent souls. That
can only happen after me, for we shall enforce and execute the law to the teeth
whether they like it or not”.
