CBC Health Services and funders in a Press conference on Saturday the 26th of June 2021 playing host at it's Baptist conference center, launched two giant emergency action projects for the Disable in the English crisis hit Regions of Cameroon amidst COVID scare.
“The Disability-inclusive humanitarian actions in health and protection sectors for IDPs and host communities, Inclusive eye health in the context of COVID-19 response project in the North West Region, Cameroon” are the two projects that CBC and it’s two funders will intensively and inclusively execute within 24 months.
The project in general, will provide access to inclusive eye health services for the population, and improve access to inclusive humanitarian assistance while protecting IDPs and their host communities.
Parties representing the key actors for the implementation of the projects in the person’s of Prof. Tih Pius for the CBCHS, Fon Julius country Director cbm, Awa Jeaque program manager SEEPD and Chick Sama coordinator of CUAPWD in the press briefing via launching of the giant projects took rounds in their respective presentations to outline the project's goals, prospects and Target.
In the various exchanges that ensued between Media men and women of all class with the hosts, interactive questions were posed and it enabled the actors to throw more light and possibilities on how best to execute the projects while reaching out to the most vulnerable in inaccessible areas hit by the ongoing Anglophone crisis and COVID.
The project from general and collective understanding, comes at the much needed moment given that people living with disability during crisis are abandoned or left to themselves not to talk of increasing cases of vulnerability.
The emergence of such an emergency health giant scheme, only comes as an immediate therapy to basically and practically arrest or trash all forms of challenges faced by persons living with Disability in these two English speaking crisis hit Regions of the country.
The millions of Euro worth projects, will by 2023 at the end of the project affect and impact the lives of over 75% of people living with disability and empower community based volunteers to do mobilization and coordinate field Action in all difficult areas.
