Aggrieved military has seized power in Burkina Faso to override terrorists influence and encroachment
Burkina Faso President Roch Marc Kabore has been arrested and detained in a military camp through a military coup plotted and carried out by Col. Paul Henri Sandaogo Damiba.
Media Reports on the grounds holds that the military junta headed by the coup plotters Col. Paul Henri has taken over a good number of military bases in the country forcefully killing many struggling to resist.
An official military statement is expected at the end of the day on Burkinabe Radio and television as the population have taken to the street supporting military actions given that they have suffered under the regime of Kabore alot.
Burning, looting and mounting of road barricades by the physically elated population is what ensue in major street as the sudden news consume the rest of Burkina Faso today Monday the 24th of January 2022.
It is widely held that soldiers behind the mutiny are acting against the failure of government to curb rising insecurity that has seen terrorist activity experience an uptick in terrorist attacks. Worth noting, is also that Burkina Faso is suffering the fourth coup plot in the last few years.
The Coup plotter Col. Paul is supposedly involved in the 2015 coup and like Guinean coup leader Mamady Doumbouya, was trained in France and was recently involved in a French Military operation. ECOWAS as we report has three military coups to handle while awaiting more as the wind of military take overs in Africa has taken another frequency.
