That was at Cameroon’s political capital Yaounde, head Quarters of
the said guild on the 25th of March 2022, chaired and coordinated by
its President General Prof. John Ebai Egbe who doubles as Special Adviser to the Institute
Universite Des Grande Ecole de Technology Douala (IUGET)
The said extraordinary session heavily attended is the first of it’s kind since the new leadership took office three months ago and it was but essential to set records straight and strengthen the internal working policies of the house while enforcing the functional approach of the organ (NOEE).
On the occasion, a special task force was created for the developments of guidelines and grading of engineers. The order is an official body authorized by law to regulate the practice of electrotechnology in Cameroon through the promotion of excellence and enforcement of discipline so as to ensure public safety, comfort and efficiency for users of electricity.
Members as a family at the asse, jointly shared and exchanged well
coordinated views for the better running and management of NOEE or ONIGE.
In the process of reviewing the implementation of the Order's action plan, a series of committees were created to name; the committee for admission and grading, Committee for discipline, committee for standards and coordination, committee for cooperation and communication committee for welfare. By laws of the house and engagements with stake holders (the Ministry of water resources, Ministry of public works, Ministry of telecommunications, Antic, Camtel, etc.) were also reviewed as the meeting unfolded.
The meeting on a sincere note, was meant to strongly enforce the framework of professional
ethics, moral rectitude, efficiency, excellence and sound collaboration among
its members through a free liberal approach.
