Jojo and Sons Ltd. Company, Keeping Bamenda Clean

That is in the midst and in the course of the deepening Anglophone crisis. The said waste and dirt disposal company limited came to surface as a hygiene and sanitation intervention unit to rescue Bamenda and it’s citizens from piles or hips of dirt at all road junctions and quarters when Hysacam packed it’s bags unceremoniously.

Hysacam’s unceremoniously packing, couple to the fact that she was the lone company attributed the job to keep Bamenda clean, left the city in the hands of waste, garbage and ponging smell  all around.

Their departure left Bamenda at the mercy of an epidemic out break. True to what we are saying food contamination around the food and main market was fast becoming a routine and needed fast intervention.

Which is why Jojo and Sons Limited took up herself to mobilize some committed youths to form a waste cleaning rescue intervention brigade which is today know as Jojo and Sons recognized by the Bamenda administration for the marvelous job they have been doing to keep Bamenda clean in the phase of the increasing socio political crisis.

The advent of Jojo and Sons Ltd from all indication has kept Bamenda clean as it's team of committed workers are borrowed labor force from their own community which makes the whole exercise routine, sustainable and secured.

Thanks to such an initiative, Bamenda is picking up and gradually coming back strongly as one of the cleanest towns in Cameroon.

In one of Jojo and Sons recent outing with the Governor of the North West Region and the Regional Delegates of Urban affairs on Thursday the 27th of April 2023, on the occasion of clean city evaluation, she show cased commit at the scenes and determination to cause Bamenda to pick the clean city award and bag the title of the best waste management and recycling company of the year in Garoua.

Speaking to the press on the occasion at MINEPAT it’s communication officers Rev Peterson accompanied by the Executive officer or Director of the company, Tebeck George Ateh said time has come under the sun in “Bamenda for waste not to be wasted” irrespective of security challenges. The said hygiene and sanitation company according to it’s kingpins have come to stay and must deliver to Bamenda the much desired results. They intend to create a permanent waste management site, an organic manure factory, a plastic recycling unit, a production unit out of waste etc.

According to them, they are leading by example and intend to make and create history out of the sweeping of the street exercise and wasting no effort to allow any waste to waste.

CAMGEW Regroup NGOs, CSOs, Eco-Businesses and Nature Conservators in a one Day Fair

That was in special commemoration of World mother earth day in Bamenda celebrated under the theme “invest in our planet” calling for people and businesses to work together towards building a healthy economy for the planet at Blue Pearl Hotel Plaza on Wednesday the 26th of April 2021, dedicated to nature based solutions actors and environment specialists.

The occasion or better still nature and conservation fair was a forum or opportunity to rally and assemble farmers, groups, Association, CIGs, Cooperatives, local initiative groups, Eco-businesses etc. to network, brain storm on common ways to work in synergy to collectively win the war on nature and development.

This has to go with collective efforts, joint ventures, and the sharing of opportunities to source for funds and better enhance the advocacy campaigns and practical actions on the ground.

According to the organizers of the network fair CAMGEW (Cameroon Gender and Environment Watch), time  has come under the sun for nature based solutions actors and environment to work hand in gloves and not in dispersed ranks to better strengthen and enhance their respective course while being gender conscious and sensitive.

Nature is demanding action and requires multiple collective actions and efforts well coordinated.

Most often a time groups and association in their social collectivity and gatherings with good ideas and programs often lack funding, fail or drop along the way because of poor approach and communication.

Working as a union on a common front solidifies the mission of every member in the network. Which is what according to CAMGEW officials caused the lead NGO on conservation to regroup colleagues to brainstorm and chart ways forward for a better future and working opportunities for Cameroon land actors in the nearest future.

Coming back to the ceremony proper, a battery of NGOs, Associations, CSOs, CIGs, businesses et-al, 24 in number answered present taking stands where they respectively show cased and exhibited their products and innovative ideas or initiatives.

There was a youth network panel  discussion on the theme of the day and subject matter, nature and environment.

A visit to the stands by the high profile delegation present, followed after a series of presentation and award of recognitions plus photos shots.

Talking to the press immediately after, the Executive Director of CAMGEW Mr Wirsy Emmanuel sounded optimistic and said with authority that the future is gradually becoming bright for nature conservators in Cameroon if they work in synergy to fight the common fight which is a common enemy. Adding that, together they shall win the war on environment, if they sustain their actions, efforts and abilities.

The historic fair was dubbed, “networking and knowledge sharing fair on mainstreaming gender in nature based solutions in the Bamenda Western highlands forest area”.

Nature and Environment: 2023 World Earth Day, Celebrated in Ecstasy and Great Accomplishment by WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP and it’s Climate Demand Action (CDA) Campaign Team

Exceptionally from  three angles and venues. Phase I, had to do with the donation of two brown symbolic kid goats from it’s livestock breeding farm at Up station to a farmer, under her “handing over the gift program” which is in it’s fifth round.

Phase II, was a site inspection visit by the Climate Demand Action (CDA) campaign team head who doubles as Founder of Cameroon Climate Journalism Network (CCJN), promoter of Climate Education Solution Action (CSA) and (CCEVA) Cameroon Climate Evangelism Program to it’s 100,000 thousands capacity sustainable nursery in Bambui, Tubah Sub-Division.

Phase III, had to do with four meetings with four major stake holders in it’s Climate Ventures in Cameroon with whom they chart ways forward on how to sustain collective efforts to protect and conserve nature while promoting social welfare and health in a clean and a pure environment adapted to a bio organic life system.




And phase IV, finally had to do with the handing over of world Earth Day symbolic T-shirts to partners in the persons of Tanjong Martin, Mayor Tubah, Massango Metouge NARCISSE DO Tubah, Fon Aaron Kulla  of Abar village and Hon. Dr. Muoka John of Ndunkam and Bros medicals. They each received in addition, a message of encouragement and a climate ecology mantra as they  took respective engagements signing the climate record book of life to “INVEST IN OUR PLANET” as the theme of this year stipulates.





The solemn 2023 World Earth Day celebration in Cameroon, Bamenda ended with a buffet at the Executive Garden Restaurant with the Climate Demand Action  (CDA) campaign team. After all the merry making with partners who have invested almost ¾ three quarter of their income and half of their time in promoting and sustaining nature’s gift.
