This
was during the evaluation and the validation of the 2023 administrative and management
accounts session on the 17th of May 2024 playing host at the Bali
Council hall.
Chaired
by Mayor Wandum Bunga Ernest, who in his opening speech thanked Councilors for
their massive attendance and the selfless role they have each been playing to
help arrest the crisis situation in Bali.
He
said “the tense situation in Bali can only be brought under control through
collective efforts and collaboration”.
Coming
back to the smooth, sound and learning working session, Councilors in their
deliberations saluted the Mayors open door policy and good working
relationship, with the staffs, Councilors and the Bali population.
In
what ensued concerning projects in the municipality, Mayor Wandum Bunga, took
pains off to give an account of the countless projects going on in the
municipality unperturbed starting with the Women empowerment center of over 60
million above the council, bridges, covets, equipping and rehabilitation works
to end with the rebuilding of the Bali grand stand.
All
these projects swallowed the whooping sum of over four hundred and eighty six million one
hundred and sixty three thousand nine hundred and sixty francs CFA producing
35.5% ratio, without any stady income generating source from the municipality.
This
was reiterated in the session, that Bali just like other Councils operating in
declared red zones in the Region, depend solely on “Santem” from government to
run the council which is not enough and pushes the Mayor to go stretching his
hands left and right to meet up.
Owing
to that, deliberations were unanimously voted in the course of the session permitting or authorizing the
Mayor to borrow certain figure to help address Council urgent needs.
In all, the grand Council assembly ended with Councilors voting both the 2023 administrative and management accounts with 29 on 29 votes an indication that they were all satisfied with management.
What must be noted is that, the session was convened in adherence to section 466 to 477 to examine the 2023 Administrative and Management accounts of Bali Council, as enshrined in law N0 2019/024 of 24 December 2019 to institute the general code of Regional and local authorities in Cameroon.
