Cameroon English Newspaper Publishers Association (CENPA)
Seeks Journalists Safety as they Combat COVID-19
This focal point of view and general plan of action was made known to the public in a press conference organized by the President General of CENPA Ngah Christian Ngah in the Guardian Post Conference hall on the 15th of May 2020.
Here, English language newspaper Publishers in Cameroon in the course of passing accross their message or plan of action on stepping up health security measures for and arround Journalists when they are in the field exercising their respective functions at the mercy of COVID-19, used the  opportunity to brainstorm on general and practical or key issues affecting the Corp and profession.
Speaking at the Press Conference CENPA President divourged that, since the Advent of CORONA and the the fight wage against it on all fronts in the country, no particular attention has been paid on Media men and women who have been playing the major role of educating and sensitizing the public at the mercy of their lives. According to him, the lives of Journalists are mostly at risk as they are more exposed and vulnerable to the virus as they go out on Coverage.
"Where we are he said, there is absolute need for Journalists security to be stepped up in order to sustain the fight against COVID-19".
Going by the rate and speedy rise in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Cameroon to the tune of over 3500, there is absolute need for Journalists to be well armed to face the challenging days ahead.
In order to facilitate the enhancement of the health security safety measures onto Journalists, CENPA donated, hand sanitizers, catoons of soaps, face masks and adapted wash hand buckets to media houses arround the nation.
Media houses in the centre Region and South West received their own quota last week. This week is set for the North West and the Littoral Regions.
