WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP Join Hands with Bambui Community to Conserve Major Wetlands..

✓ Fronts for wetland conservation at all fronts

✓Boost community Efforts and initiatives mobilized towards annual Cleaning and conservation campaign of the village

✓Spoil Bambui Women on the occasion with Goodies

✓Set up a Community volunteers network of women to generally oversee the day to day security of the  water Reserve areas

This was on the occasion of the annual village come together in mobilization to clean sacred grounds, forests and water Reserves. As it is established, on such a day programmed in the village calendar, women and men of a particular age group from each household, show up for the general clean up campaign and exercise.

The scene or venue we are talking of here is “Atunui” mega water source and “Nsah Fewouh”, all forest reserves and conserved areas which dates decades under Bambui myth and mythology.

History have it on good notes that these two great water sources has for years sustained steady water flow and supply in and around the community. Adding to that, the sacred nature of the area enriches the cultural heritage of the people.

Coming back to the ceremony proper, what ensued around the early hours of 9:00 am on Thursday the 9th of February 2023 was that men and women in their numbers gathered at the Atunui water shed, weeding, cleaning and clearing the environment. Ritual rites to adorn the gods followed, ending with the sharing of salt, soap and Omo by the Executive Director of WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP as a source of motivation and encouragement.

Bambui rural women, from thence, took community based approach commitment as the most viable option to restore wetland conservation and ecotourism. Which according to them, should serve  as a model worth emulating for replication in other community water situations faced with similar challenges. Clearing the path ways of water and weeding the wetlands around catchment airs the environment and that alone gives the water reserve a good breeding space while enriching its biodiversity content.

Here communal and collective spirit was also harmonized by indigenes to the teeth, to reach out to a common goal and wish.

An initiative officials in the area saluted greatly, doffing their hats for this year’s exceptional planning.

What must be noted in addition is that this joint venture initiative to add additional push to wetlands restoration in Bambui forms part of the five years strategic media development reporting and action plan World Echoes MEDIA GROUP adopted last UN World Wetland Day to accompany some if not all community initiatives that has to do with wetland conservation and restoration in the Region.
