“Waste is Wealth Part XXXIX” On board our CLIMATE WAGON this new year, we shall be recollecting memories of Cameroon's pioneer CLIMATE JUSTICE Award we organized in September 2022 while laying the ground work for Cameroon's Pioneer Wetland Restoration Development Initiative Award (WEREDIA Awards 2024) as part of activities to Commemorate 2025 World Wetland Day
Placed under the theme “Protecting . Wetlands for our Common Future” a future that can sufficiently and collectively be belt by nature based solution champions and sustainable development Actors.
Who need maximum encouragement for all the sacrifices they offer in protecting and conserving our water, forest, the environment and nature's resource.
It is in this context and in special consideration that the team of land media experts of Cameroon Climate Journalism Network (CCJN) have put up a national commission to carefully select organizations, water authorities, water experts, individuals, mineral water supply agencies, entrepreneurs, Development actors, institutions, schools, Universities, Associations, organizations, local women's groups, CIGs, construction companies, engineering firms, research laboratories, finance organizations etc. for the great attributions or award of accolades scheduled to take place on the 2nd of February 2025, Bamenda I Council Hall, North West Region Cameroon.
This is a day in history that will gather sustainable development champions, great researchers, water resources manager/experts, Health workers, innovative thinkers, Wetland Restorers, forest guards, climate social entrepreneurs cum nature protectors etc.
The come and see land mark event organized under the canopy of CLIMATE DEMAND ACTION (CDA) Campaign falls under Cameroon Climate Journalism Network's (CCJN) action plans to enhance Climate resilience advocacy to sustain water resources through the conservation of nature, the recognition, and the reward of it's actor and promoters since “Water is Life”.
NB: Public announcement of Winners of the Wetland Ecology Management and Development Award dubbed (WEREDIA Award 2024) Wetland Restoration Development Initiative Award, shall be announced under two Categories in a Press Briefing to the Cameroon Media on Sunday the 12th of January 2025 at the Handicraft Center Bamenda, 10:00 am prompt.
