The ADVENT, the ERA of a Climate Bulletin Weekly, “Answering nature’s call through innovative reporting and redefining the foot path of media campaigns against climate change in Cameroon. Editorial: “Why a Weekly Climate Bulletin in Cameroon”

Because we are living in an era of great climate reckoning and reawakening which is the reasons why the world should grow beyond party lines, democracy, ethnic and cultural lines, the fight against terrorism, marginalization etc to talk, more on putting force and adding impetus to the fight against climate change, as general global warming has taken another steam and dimension.

We are all living witness to the green house gas emission problems posing as a great global threat and the fact that nature is no longer appealing and all adaptation processes are not enough or the best.

Temperature rise is killing millions of people daily and about 10 million yearly without restrains. There is gross world insufficient efforts and attitude to bring the situation to rest. Which is why there is absolute need for diversified sustainable actions and efforts to salvage the situation in play. Which I must confess is Deepening.

Mankind is at the cross road and mid way to a great climate Armageddon if proper care is not taken.

What we are saying is that climate resilience need more than ever before climate education and the challenge is much inevitable because only proper education and sensitization can rescue us from the present encroaching force of climate crisis.

There is just no way an individual, an institution or organization can dissociate his or herself from the root cause of the crisis, reasons why we must change and review our ways.

That can only be through selfless initiatives, media actions or campaign and community based initiatives.

Nature based solutions are playing their part, but if measures are not properly harnessed or enhanced through climate education and campaigns, mankind will be laboring in Vein.

Fellow readers, dear audiences, victims that you are and we are, to the present climate predicament or dispensation, it is time we embrace media based solution actions to fight against climate change.

Which is what has pushed us after proper brainstorming under the canopy of Cameroon climate Journalism Network (CCJN) to create a forum or a medium to put to the disposal of our diverse audience a weekly updates on what makes news in the direction of nature conservation and startling revelations all around the planet about climate.

What should be done or should not be done to remedy the global climate crisis we are all faced with.

The days ahead are so demanding, so telling and challenging reasons why we have to act fast and the press must champion the crusade. I rest my case on the issues hoping to serve you our great audience without reserve.

The more reasons why WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP came up with the climate bulletin weekly to redefine climate reporting and resilient action.

On this special note the entire editorial board of World Echoes MEDIA GROUP want to think that you will whole heartedly embrace this climate media initiative to fortify climate land media actors and earth journalism campaign world wide . Shalom

Whistle Blowing: “Climate Finance and accountability” Effects and Impact on Climate Change and Resilient Actions.

Justice to climate finance and accountability for now and tomorrow to combat climate crisis has a major role to play. What we are saying in this opinion for social change, is just like the UN Sectary General Antonio Guterres recent call for concern decrying illicit practices, insufficient and lukewarm attitudes toward the fight against climate change.

Fellow audiences, dear fervent readers of “Climate Bulletin” our weekly ANNOUNCER, this analysis is influenced or motivated by Guterres last Climate media outing a week ago and what this climate media Expert and ambassador has witnessed so far in the crusade and campaigns against climate change.

What we are saying is that “let what happened to finances meant to redress world common call for concern in the past not happen to climate funds and should not be swallowed by funny seminars and misdirected by the very same persons in “World governing Bodies” in charge of managing finances.

Funds and finance for climate ventures and initiatives must reach the grassroots and must be handled and managed by community based organizations and not chauffeur driven experts who in their usual style have learned to convince hierarchy while they dabble with funds meant for meaningful actions on the ground, questioning the credibility and authenticity of actors on the ground offering selfless and loyal service to nature without any recourse.

The advent of global warming and scientific evolution has caused and called for several summits whose outcome has remained on papers and has taken mankind to no where, knowing very well that we are directly affected and are the cause factor.

A lot, why not  too much bad fate is going  on in the management of emergency crisis around the world. Why because of subjective approach and poor management style of finance.

It is on records and many are aware of all the resolutions of all the (COPs) I mean climate summits which has taken place around the world plus the Paris agreement on climate mitigation and compensation which has yielded no meaningful fruits today.

Let us be honest to ourselves, COPs set and discuss their agenda not with parties directly concerned but with persons out to defend individual interest in a common call for concern sessions.

Records must be set straight and finances channeled to the right quarters to get meaningful results. It is not for nothing of late that Africans are asking for compensation or should be compensated to redress the situation because they have a very instrumental role to play.

Yet, some westerners and diabolic Africans in high offices who believe more in their pockets take delight or advantage in playing with words, policies and resolutions for selfish interest.

What I am saying, should not be miss quoted, or misconstrued a clear cut statement on accounts must be made, a budget stated and disbursed without strings attached for work to be carried out by the grassroot effectively.

Conferences, seminars and summits have sucked and drained a lot of budgets meant for emergency actions and interventions.

That you and I know and it is most solicited as a step forward by “agents” in those big offices who feed fat out of the programs.

Time for practical and realistic actions is now and thank God it has come to the notice of the Sectary General of the United Nations who has vowed to no longer take it lying down. The time for total overhauling to redefine climate actions is now.

It should not only end as empty threats but must go beyond normal sanctions and penalties to arrest of organizations and parties toiling around with Climate funds and finances.

Climate reality entails tree planting, nature based solutions and biodiversity conservation not  literature and sensational approach by crocks handling climate finances.

Budget misappropriation, mismanagement, deviation and embezzlement is what has slowed world emergency actions and efforts. This should not be allowed in the climate situation or predicament we are finding ourselves today.

Too much “grammar” is posing as a major threat or challenge to the commoner who is there carry out the tree planting exercise or solution action. Give the resources and wait for the results, a peasant Farmer is naturally honest and judicious in manage his or her resources meant for farming where he or she earns her living.

Join me sing the chorus as we add our voice to that of the UN Sectary General Simon Guetterres call on actors and nation to be accountable on climate finances management and judicious actions to combat climate change.

It’s high time pretenders pretending to be fixers in the house of world governing Bodies for emergency to be send packing for enlightened, reliable and honest ones to take over.

Time has proven and disproven those currently handling management. I stand to be disproven if the UN Sectary General did not come out hitting hard on the subject matter.

Only a genuine and sincere summits is the only way out of climate crisis supported by frank actions and honest efforts by reliable agents and agencies.

Hear the UN Sectary General Antonio Guetterres lamenting “I am very worried about where the world stands on climate. Countries are far off track in meeting climate promises and commitments.  I see a lack of ambition.  A lack of trust.  A lack of support.  A lack of cooperation. And an abundance of problems around clarity and credibility.

The climate agenda is being undermined.  At a time when we should be accelerating action, there is backtracking.  At a time when we should be filling gaps, those gaps are growing.

Meanwhile, the human rights of climate activists are being trampled.  The most vulnerable are suffering the most.  Current policies are taking the world to a 2.8°C temperature rise by the end of the century”.

Journalism on Fire; Increased media threats set new platform for Journalists in the restive Anglophone Regions of the Cameroons.

Targeted media practitioners and journalists in the warring Anglophone Regions has taken a new tune with multiple faces in recent time. This happening just weeks after the gruesome murder of Journalist Nde Soh Anye in Bamenda, risk threats have far doubled just within days. Reporters now fear to cover stories that have to do with investigative reporting on the field. The regions NW/SW, have been in war with separatists and government forces for over 7 years now which shows no sign of its end soon. The tusel for freedom and independent is at the heart of the enslaved  Anglophone Regions. Death toll has risen with millions being internally displaced, while  others have narrowly disappeared, having no report on their where about.

In the  same note, the publishers of the alternativenewspaper; David Mifang have been serouely victimized, and tortured by some unknown gun men i while covering an investigative news on the crisis. He suffered  severe injury, hospitalised and have been discharged from medical attention. Since living the hospital, the publisher have received numerous phone threats from these unknown individuals in the region. Mr. Mifang like  otjers risk practicing journalism in Bamenda.

World press freedom day brought to light media men and women, calling on the government of Cameroon to sit up and protect journalists, who are on constant threats and exposed to violence from society, state embezzlers  and  politicians. Journalists and Media family took on the streets of towns to demand justice to colleagues killed, the  release of imprisoned repoters.

In Cameroon, Journalists like David Mifang are facing operational threats, attacks, illigal detentions and the killing of reporters. Government and state officials are blamed; this to silence reporters and journalism in the country.

According to Journalist Samson Ngengeh, Cameroonian laws are hostile to the media."A journalist can be charged for libel and defamation and sent to prison; now we have the 2014 law on the fight against terrorism in Cameroon," said Samson. " Many provisions in that law are really scaring journalists, because according to that law, a Journalist can be charged for supporting terrorism simply by publishing articles or being in possession of information; which is considered by the government qs sensitive."

These and many others, exposed the risk of reporters on the field; while doing their job. Therefore should we not say, the practice of Journalism is on Fire?
