✓Efforts Saluted Under the Management Prioress of the General Manager Andangfung Eric and the Ingenuity of the Hon. Minister of Agriculture  Gabriel Mbairobe.

Cameroon's Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe, inaugurated new rice production and processing equipment in Ndop, acquired by the government to boost output at the Upper Noun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA). The investment aims to increase annual rice production from 21,000 tons to over 100,000 tons.

On Food Sufficiency and sovereign right;

In a massive step forward for the agro-industrial sector, the Upper Noun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA) is scaling up its operational capacities. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe, inaugurated newly acquired rice production and processing equipment in Ndop, Ngoketunjia Division. Valued at over 4 billion CFA francs, this investment underscores the government's aggressive push toward an import-substitution policy, aiming to reduce the country's reliance on imported rice.

Output boosting and local Famers Empowerment;

For years, the region has been constrained by outdated infrastructure, with earlier processing machinery frequently breaking down. With the acquisition of this new, state-of-the-art equipment, UNVDA is well-positioned to aggressively scale up annual rice production from roughly 21,000 tonnes to well over 100,000 tonnes. This massive expansion aims to bridge the gap between local demand and foreign imports, ensuring greater food sovereignty for the nation.

Management’s Effort Saluted;

This milestone is the result of dedicated efforts driven by institutional ingenuity. Stakeholders have extensively lauded the dynamic and proactive management of UNVDA's General Manager, Andangfung Eric. His strategic vision paired with the continuous support of the Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Gabriel Mbairobe has been instrumental in acquiring the machinery and pushing light mechanization into the country's rice farming sector.

The Future of Rice Production in Cameroon Secured;

By completely modernizing the agricultural chain from planting to processing and bio-degradable packaging UNVDA continues to establish itself as a precursor in mechanizing Cameroonian agriculture. As the institution moves forward, this latest milestone promises not only to increase the volume and quality of Ndop rice but also to significantly enhance the livelihoods of thousands of smallholder farmers across the Northwest Region.
