Cameroon Allocate Over 800 Billion to Intensify Fight against COVID-19
The government of Cameroon made this known yesterday in a press conference that played host on the 14th of May 2020 Yaounde, hosting three Ministers, that of communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, Finance, Loius Paul Motaze and Health Manaouda Malaichi.
Here, the key Ministers basically and directly involved with major issues associated to the combat of Corona virus in Cameroon disclosed that they have been able to stretch hands left and right to mobilize financial resources to the tune of 800 Billion to add up to what is Handy to multiply and accelerate the fight against the pandemic at all front.
A chunk of this amount worth over 136 billion comes from the IMF.
In their respective presentation and response to questions asked, they were emphatic on the fact that a huge chunk of the amount will go into rapid health rescue measures, a quota, to boast the economic sector and the rest on other pressing social related issues including media campaigns.
According to them, combatting corona at all front is the last resort for Government as the number of positive cases keep rising exponentially to over 3000 .
In the direction of explioting indegenous medicine to beef up phamacetical or clinical approach, the Minister of health affirmed working in sernergy with the Arch Bishop of Douala Samuel Kleda and all other basic researchers to come up with a strong medication for the treatment of the virus in no distance time.
The steps and strides are daring and reassuring. Hopefully the days ahead are promising for Cameroon's COVID-19 situation irrespective of the laxity observed by the common Man after government came up with relief measures of late.
