Foundation Stone of Bamenda Gas Filling Station Laid at Last,

By Minister of water and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba personal representative of the Prime Minister, Head of government Chief Dr Dion Ngute.

The symbolic laying of the foundation ceremony stone took place on Saturday the 5th of October 2022 at Bamenda I Sub-Division, Mendankwe village at Bangshe quarter to be more precise.

The dream come through forfeits studies and survey works hitherto carried out at the site and decision made final last 28th January.





Happening on the eve of the CPDM 40th (Cameroon People Democratic movement) anniversary, the gift planting ceremony brought together all sons and daughters of the region, to name, Yang Philemon, former PM, Moh Sylvester Director General of Treasury, Paul Atanga Nji, MINAT Boss, Mbayu Felix MINREX, Prof. Paul Ghogomo Presidency, Prof. Acheri Kilo MINBAS, Prof Uphie Melo Chinje Rector Ngoundere university, Fai Yengo DDR, Senators, Parliamentarians and Mayors etc, not leaving out church, Muslims and traditional authorities  who joyfully thanked the head of state for the anniversary package.


The gas filling station estimated at over 5 Billion known only to Bamenda, will assemble and bottle liquefiable cooking gas to be sold at an affordable price to the Bamenda community both at the Regional and Divisional circles.

The 24 months contract, it must be noted, will be realized by a Nigerian based engineering company that will have to build the filling station and all other facilities that will make the assembly plant complete and modern to meet the expected needs of the company and population.

Okie Johnson General Manager of the hydro-carbon Stabilization fund, contract awarder queuing up from the speeches of the city Mayor Paul Achobang, that of the President of the Regional Assembly Prof. Fru Angwafor, celebrated the massive turn out to welcome the August gift in November which to him was a sign that the population was anxiously waiting for the gift and are thankful to the head of state.

Coming back to the socio economic and biodiversity benefits, tree felling will reduce, natural forest reserves will be revived, nature protected, gas bought at affordable prices and supplies assured.

Note should be taken that after the Bamenda ultra modern gas filling station comes the of Ebolowa. According to Minister Eloundou’s speech.
