Cameroon Climate EDUCATION Campaign, Launched.

Under the Media action plan of Climate Demand Action (CDA) for Climate Solution Action (CSA) in Cameroon schools, Colleges and Universities by World ECHOES MEDIA GROUP and Cameroon Climate Journalism Network (CCJN).

That was on Thursday the 30th of March 2023 at the Regional college of Agriculture (RCA) Bambili in Pomp and Fanfare.

This day in history marks the beginning of climate education activism or campaign in Cameroon as the Executive Director of WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP, Tamukong Roland Angong who doubles as Cameroon’s climate Justice Ambassador gathered Media Men and Women in an enlarged press conference to launch a Nation wide Media campaign for climate education in Cameroon schools, Colleges and Universities.

Climate crisis needs adequate climate solution which is why the climate Demand Action  (CDA) campaign team took upon themselves the initiative to develop a Media based class room approach to crusade for the teaching of climate solution action (CSA) in Cameroon schools, Colleges and Universities.

The Nation wide Media campaign on Climate Education intends to bring all stakeholders on board the moving train of global actors against climate change after launching the exercise with trainees of the Regional College of Agriculture  (RCA) Bambili.

The chain effect of the media action campaign under climate demand Action, will sustain the exercise year in year out to finally cause Cameroon government into adding climate studies or education in the curriculum.

This Media campaign for climate education, the climate Demand Action (CDA) team intends to groom climate media volunteers and experts who will coordinate the exercise.

An exercise which entails holding several working session with the educational sector in Cameroon, holding talks with school administrators around the country, offering talks in school, setting up of climate clubs in schools, labelling of climate conscious schools, hoisting of banners, caravan march, holding of capacity building seminars and press conferences etc.

Coming back to the launching exercise or occasion proper which saw the entire students of the Regional college of Agriculture RCA and it’s school administration assemble to welcome a nation wide media initiative which has come to bring climate relief to climate change,.

The Executive Director of WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP in his symbolic Climate media mobilization call for climate education launched a climate appeal reading from an exhaustive six page paper presentation. He then moved on to  read a climate motion, handed a recognition certificate to the college and officially labeled the institution a Climate conscious one. Tubah Council was also a stopping point for the immense work they are doing in the direction of waste management and recycling using nature based solutions plus the training center they have opened to produce solid pavement bricks out of recycled plastics.

The Director of the Regional college of Agriculture Billa Vitalis in response lauded the initiative taken by the press to crusade for Climate Education. According to him the Nation wide Media campaign on Climate Education is seeking justice to climate beginning from the class room. Adding that his institution has since been on the foot path of training agricultural experts and that the frantic climate call being made by the press on the occasion will go a long way to change a lot of mindsets about climate change.

Thankful to the bright weather and  colorful ceremony, the Executive Director  of WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP Tamukong Roland, talking to the press celebrated the Lord Mayor of Tubah Council Tanjong Martin, the Honorable Member of Parliament for Tubah/Bafut Agho Oliver for sponsoring the Divine launching exercise on climate education and the commitment to accompany the climate education team in all their undertaking. Stating clearly and categorically that “we have started the nation wide media campaigns on climate education in Cameroon and will do everything humanly possible for such a dream to come to pass. IT IS NOW OR NEVER and nothing will stop us”.
