MINAT Boss Chairs Second Bi-annual Conference With Regional Governors to Map Out Strategies on How to Handle End of Year Festivities and Security Challenges Ahead of African Cup of Nations

Atanga Nji Paul, Minister of Territorial Administration chairs an in-camera meeting of regional governors. The closed-door meeting in Hilton Hotel, Yaounde, is part of the second  Bi-annual conference of Regional Governor's that started today, December 9, 2021 at the Yaounde City Town Hall. The second bi-annual conference of regional governors has as theme, "Administrative Authorities and guidelines for end-of-year feasts and African Cup of Nations Total Energies 2021.

In his opening address, Atanga Nji Paul expressed satisfaction that all the governors were in attendance as pertinent issues pertaining to urban disorder, hygiene and insecurity, juvenile delinquency in schools with students consuming drugs and the organization of the African Nation's Cup would be discussed. He also hammered on incessant land grabbing facilitated by some administrative officials and the unorthodox creation of villages and third class chiefdoms.

Atanga Nji Paul said the African Nations Cup is an opportunity to showcase Cameroon's legendary hospitality, and thus Cameroonians should be welcoming and be exemplary ambassadors of the country. He tasked the regional governors to insist on the covid-19 barrier measures as the pandemic is still ravaging.
