Uba Workers to Go on Strike as from the 9th

University of Bamenda (Uba) Officials, Lecturers, Staffs and Support Staffs to Go on Strike as from Tomorrow the 9th of December 2021

They gave the Vice Chancellor Prof. Theresa Akenji up till the 8th of this December 2021 to pay their accumulated Mission orders, allowances and areas.

As we report nothing has been done as temperaments keep rising and likely to flare as from Tomorrow with full action or manifestations given that the expectant workers are 17 days to Christmas celebration with nothing to do preparations.

The promises are too much and assurance from the Vice Chancellor never forthcoming. This time the workers have sworn to cause her pay by force. Hear them “not even that the money is not there but she and his people are busy fidgeting with figures with the comptable matier and auxiliaries at the expense of workers,. While those doing the work are languishing and wallowing in abject poverty. What she is doing is complete expression of bad fate and lack of human kindness given the difficulty people are going through and the risk we all bear to come to work.  We are sick and tire of her empty promises. Yaounde must know this”

They have with  firm indignation sworn to make things worst for the Vice Chancellor and the Minister of Higher Education Prof. Fame Ndongo, if they are not paid their money before December 25th. It is unfortunate that under such trying times in the country and North West Region in particular, Prof. Theresa and click are helping to worsen the situation by annoying staffs, officials and Lecturers the more.

“Workers should be paid after work and must earn what they deserve in time and not out of pressure and stress.” This complains and many more are coming from the foot hills of another scandalous report that is circulating and vexing to the Bamenda University community concerning the Ministerial grant of 50000frs to students annually. The list of this year’s beneficiaries came carrying the names of Lecturers and obscured names leaving out many names which are suppose to benefit.

This and many more preoccupations will set Uba ablaze if proper care and speed actions are not taken in time to meet the expectations and wishes of it’s aggrieved workers who are in a state of confusion and frustration as Christmas approaches with empty pockets.

All these wrangles can best be explained based on gross administrative excesses and lapses in management which calls for absolute need for the system to be totally overhauled.
