-A Stream whose Volume Rises in the Dry Season and Drops in the Raining Season,

-A Water Source with Over Six Outlets, host ground of all the gods in the Region with supernatural Healing Powers.

These kickers introducing our   daring report from a life experience and a living reality in play, may sound as a myth but it is true and nothing but the truth from living experiences and testimonies.

The seat or scene from where we are doing this report “Atunui” Water or stream, lies in Bambui 500ms from Bambili both host villages of the University of Bamenda, in Tubah Sub-Division flowing into river Mezam and beyond.

With your permission, let me start this special investigative report with a remark. “If all has been said or explored in the North West Region of Cameroon for the past years and nothing made mentioned of about the natural and supernatural powers of “Atunui” Water Sources, a seat of power and a residing ground of the gods of the land in the Region then there is something missing in the archives of Bamenda history.

This investigative reporter, call him the exposer of the hidden gift of nature and the truth, is talking of a stream he grew up and saw with natural mystics and mystery.

Stories around this stream, it’s sources, the catchment and the supernatural powers dwelling there in are abound and no scientific research or researcher, have been able to explain for years the whole mystery surrounding “Atunui” water source, aka Head of the gods of the land.

We are talking of a stream that dates over one hundred (100) to two hundred (200) years which originated as a parcel of water in a quarter today named “Atunui” (Head of the gods) in Bambui, because that is where power, authority, begins and ends in the Region and it is believed that all the great ancestors and late Fons reside in.

The supernatural potential of this river source by its nature is very frightful as it reanimates and revive itself automatically. The reserved semi forest area around, has all the water friendly trees you can imagine on earth and every leave, stem or plant here, heals or threat all type of diseases. No tree here can easily be felled and from history, one witch doctor attempted and died later.

Coming to the stream as we said in the header, it is first a symbolic ritual rites ground for the village, a place where luck and blessings are harvested. The stream has healing and treatment power. One of the greatest traditional doctors of the land ((George-Sadam), was given powers by the stream and performed all forms of magic one could ever image on earth. The stream has a natural treatment and filtration system which provides to the indigenes refine water through out the year. Since it’s advent the sources have never ran dry since it is believed to be the outlets of all the seven lakes you have in the North West. To name, lake Bambili, Awing, Bambalang, Oku, Ilung, Wum, Nyos, etc.

It is also believed very strongly that  the supernatural strength of the stream comes from the seven different lakes in the Region that unite to give an unimaginable  force and power to the water source, that may sound today as a myth but that is the reality in play.

As a living witness, the bio-eco tourism potential of the said catchment area is still to be classified. As it has a forest reserve system that automatically revive itself without village community intervention.

The water source has a natural filtration system and it is pure for consumption wherever you carry it as it flows. Where the community lack explanation is how the stream’s volume rises in the dry season instead of dropping and rather drops in the raining season instead of rising.

Everything about the stream is not only that the reverse is true, but that everything about the water source and the stream is extraordinary. All plants growing in, around, and on the path of the stream are medicinal. The stream with a shallow surface breed mud fish, crabs, tortoise, and Martine creatures of all type.

Nobody visits the stream to fetch water or carry out any activity  after 7:00 pm or at exactly 12:00 noon as it is believed that the later hours are for the owners of that catchment ground, the gods and goddesses. Most of those who have attempted going there during such prohibited hours, have a lot to say about their frightful experiences and encounters.

Not to talk of those who have come across big pythons wearing a crown in the stream, mermaids lying on one of the big stones, noise around the whole place made by gods in the stream chanting and enchanting. An uncommon light coming from the stream to send a signal or an alert to the village.

It is very common to decipher of anything  big to happen or important in the village from signs and signals manifested or displayed by gods of the stream.

Meaning the village and villagers have an apportioned reaction to any sign manifested around the source. Seasonal ritual rites by mandate are conducted by the village yearly to adorn the gods and source for blessings, and protection.

“Atunui” water catchments source is a come and see area and a no go zone for wizards, anybody carrying charms or mystical talisman.

Thanks for coming into encounter with the signs, mystery, Wanders and mystic powers of a natural embodiment and powers embedded  in a water source and a supernatural catchment source in Cameroon.
