Quetong Handerson Vindicated; Where Teachers Got it all Wrong,

-Nalova, Teachers and Diaspora should leave the SDO Alone

It is time to call a spade a spade, of late there have been a cloud of dust and noise over some teacher’s salaries suspended in Ngoketunjia and it is almost taking the SDO’s head.

Everybody is in the know that government have since threatened to sack or suspend salaries of government workers in the crisis hit Regions of Anglophone Cameroon for non effective presence. Given that a good number of them had taken advantage of the situation or were aligning with the crisis not to go to work while taking monthly salaries.

Our finding lately shows that teachers salaries of most of the Divisions strongly hit by the crisis were suspended. Most Hancock and arrested for playing the spy and agents to Amba boys. All in the name of not enabling schools to resume effectively. Through these arrests many network of teachers discouraging or preventing school resumption were dismantled.

Coming to Ngoketunjia Division, why is the case of some suspended teachers very particular? Because they are doing everything possible to hang the Kaisa, Quetong.

A “Kaisa” who is only acting on instructions from hierarchy, asked to forward the list of workers who have abandoned their duty posts for years and have been called severally to resume duty and are not forth coming. Once the lists reaches Yaounde through the Governor, the Ministry in question transmits to the Minister of Finance where salaries are suspended without necessarily consulting the SDO again.

Now, let’s get it straight here, how did the SDO personally cause the suspension of the salaries of teachers in his Division when the Minister of Secondary Education personally caused the suspension of over 2000 salaries last year 2021 and today she is dissociating herself from the SDO of Ngoketunjia’s Prefectorial order.

By the way, were the teachers effectively at work and their salaries were out rightly suspended? Is the most pressing question, Everybody knows that schools have not effectively  been on in these crisis hit areas for the past years because of insecurity.

A fact, the North West Regional Delegate of secondary education buttressed in the last sector conference.

So where did the SDO of Ngoketunjia go wrong just like all other SDOs and DOs in the Region.

Government workers and not only teacher’s salaries were suspended and not only those of Ngoketunjia. Why is Quetong Handerson in the News?

As an administrator he should align with activist, he should not comply with orders from hierarchy and should not govern because he is son of the soil?

Let’s have it straight here, Quetong’s records as a seasoned administrative officer are so Telling and inviting. No Senior Divisional Administrator in the Region has suffered the fate of the crisis more than him. Yet he has remained brave, and loyal only to be paid back in bad coins by a Minister who is dancing “Bafia Dance”. One thing is very clear, Quetong is a level headed Administrator and acts only when it is required and judiciously not because he has scores to settle or personal problems with individuals. That is why as much as media campaigns are hired against him, he is mute.

Coming back to the subject matter, who ordered for the list of effective presence of teachers of North West to be send to her? the Minister. So Dr Nalova should be hanged not Quetong, teachers should spare the SDO all the blames.

Administration is a chained process and decisions are not or never taken in isolation.

Where did Quetong go wrong or became overzealous to be auctioned for slaughtering? Minister Nalova Lyonga should carry her cross and stop digging pits for others in attempt to safe her face. She suspended her teachers salaries and there is too much noise about it. The Best thing is to reinstate their salaries and stop making mockery and drama of the whole show. Pointing fingers left and right will not solve the problem, in fact Biya should even call the honorable Minister for questioning on attempt to excite teachers more in the crisis zone. Just imagine teachers were to take the streets as the Anglophone liberation war deepens. One will not be able to measure the consequences.

On that note, we are by this special report appealing to the honorable Minister Dr Nalova Lyonga to reinstate the salaries of those suffering teachers with all the risks they are taking and stop pointing fingers in the wrong direction.
