Donate 10000 Pounds from the British
Government as seed funds to subsidize actors in the private sector carrying out
pro friendly nature activities. The
subsidize comes against the backdrop of the universal or global call for action
against Climate change. The high profile meeting to mobilizes the private
sector for Climate Change Actions took place in Yaounde last January 2022 at the
British high commission premise.
The seed fund comes from the UK
Government’s Climate Diplomacy Fund to kick-start the Game Changers. The grant
will help the Game Changers mobilize stakeholders (co-funders, enablers,
volunteers), build relevant capacity and canvass more resources to work towards
achieving the goal to reach 1 million Cameroonians within 24 months.
UK Government’s support is part of
commitments around COP26 to encourage the private sector transition to a low
carbon operating model.
On the occasion, business groups,
companies and diplomatic missions signed the Commitment book to commit to
Climate Action.
